Jennifer Slack has a wide variety of legal experience, ranging from criminal defense, criminal prosecution, expunctions and nondisclosures, contract law, and government law.
During her 18 years with the Lubbock County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, she devoted an entire decade to cases specific to family violence. She handled misdemeanor cases ranging from terroristic threat, harassment, and domestic violence all the way to felony cases, such as strangulation, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and sexual assault. She represented victims of family violence in court by obtaining protective orders. While working in the Domestic Violence Unit, she collaborated with many advocacy organizations and law enforcement agencies. She was also a committee member for the South Plains Association of Government Criminal Justice Advisory Committee for six years, holding the vice-chair position for two years.
In late 2018, Jennifer joined the civil division of the Lubbock County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. As legal counsel for Lubbock County, she advised department heads and elected officials, handled contracts and Public Information Act requests, and assisted in civil litigation for the county. She worked closely with the medical examiner’s office, the sheriff’s office, commissioners court, and other major departments within Lubbock County and has represented Lubbock County in federal court.
Jennifer was raised in a small town in west Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2006. She spent 18 years in the Lubbock County Criminal District Attorney’s Office.
